This page lists 17,285 dropped domains that were confirmed available to register in the last seven days. A dropped domain has passed through expiry, the grace period and the redemption period, and has been deleted by the registry. Each listing has referring domains that survived the original site going offline. Names are masked until you reveal them on Free, Starter and Pro; Business shows every name. Every metric is open.
About this list
Availability is re-checked against the live DNS root over DNS-over-HTTPS, and a listing that turns out to be registered is removed. The date of that check is shown on every listing, and this page holds the listings checked within the last week. Referring domains are counted from our own web crawl, not from a paid link index. Site history comes from archived captures: the archived snapshot count and the span of years the site was captured. Revised Score blends link-graph centrality, referring domains and site history into one 0 to 100 grade, computed across the whole directory.
Recently verified is the point of this page. A dropped domain list that was accurate a month ago is a list of names that may already be taken again. The listings here are ordered newest first, so the names that most recently dropped and joined the directory are at the top, and every one was confirmed available within the week. - What is a dropped domain?
- A domain expires when its registration period ends and the owner does not renew. It then passes through a grace period and, for most generic TLDs, a redemption period of around 30 days, during which the previous owner can still recover it. When those periods end the registry deletes the name and it drops: it becomes available for anyone to register. A dropped domain is one that has completed that process.
- How do I check if a domain has dropped?
- Query the DNS root for it, or check with any registrar. A domain that resolves to nothing at the registry level and shows as available at a registrar has dropped. Registrar search pages can be cached, so a DNS-level check is the more reliable test. Every listing on this page was re-checked over DNS-over-HTTPS in the last seven days, and the check date is shown on the listing. The expired domain checker tool runs the same check on any name.
- What is the difference between expired and dropped domains?
- They are the same domains at different points in time. An expired domain has passed its renewal date but may still be recoverable by its previous owner. A dropped domain has been deleted by the registry and is available to register. Directories that list expired domains before the drop are listing names that may never become available. Every listing here is checked to be available now.
- Can I register a dropped domain?
- Anyone can register a dropped domain, at any registrar, at the ordinary registration price. Revised does not register, hold or sell domains. When you reveal a listing you get the name and its verified metrics, then register it wherever you prefer. Names in demand are sometimes taken by dropcatching services in the seconds after the drop, which is why availability here is re-checked rather than assumed.
