Every listing is stamped

Availability decays. A domain that was free when we swept it may not be free today, so each listing carries the time of its last check rather than an unqualified claim that the name is available.

Read the stamp before you act

The check date is published on every listing and is filterable, so you can narrow the directory to rows swept in the last day or the last week. A stale stamp is not a claim that the name has gone; it is a reason to confirm at your registrar before you count on it.

We can't reserve anything

Because we don't hold the domains, there is no hold to place. A name can be registered by someone else between our check and yours. Acting promptly on a fresh reveal is the only protection available, and that is true of every expired-domain data source, not just this one.

If a listing is wrong

Tell us. A domain that has clearly been taken should not be sitting in the directory, and a message gets it looked at.
