Best-linked expired domains
Expired domains ranked by the strength of the sites linking to them, counted from our own link record. This ranking is not published yet.
About this list
This page will rank expired domain names by how many different sites link to them, counted from our own web crawl. Our crawler has not yet recorded a link to any name in the directory, so there is nothing to rank. Nothing here is a claim that these domains have no links.
The links are ours, not a vendor's. Referring domains are counted from our own web crawl, not from a paid link index. Availability is re-checked against the live DNS root over DNS-over-HTTPS, and a listing that turns out to be registered is removed. Site history comes from archived captures: the archived snapshot count and the span of years the site was captured. Revised Score blends link-graph centrality, referring domains and site history into one 0 to 100 grade, computed across the whole directory.
How many sites link to a name is a better starting point than how many links there are: one site linking a thousand times is one relationship, and a thousand sites linking once each is a thousand. Which sites they are is better still, which is why a publisher we hold an entry for moves a name further up this page than a widget that appears in every footer on the web. It ranks the best-linked names we hold rather than every name with a link, and the counts behind the order are a floor — the record holds what we have seen, so a domain that is not here has not been shown to have no links. Browse the ranking here, or use the filters to pivot into the full directory. Search, filters and sort are free, signed in or not.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as a link in our web crawl?
It is a link from one site to another, found by our own crawler rather than bought from a link index. We crawl pages, record the links they carry, and keep the linking page, the anchor text and the crawl the link was seen in. A link is only listed here if we saw it ourselves, so this page is a floor on what points at a domain and never a complete count.
Why does anchor text matter?
Anchor text is the visible words a link is wrapped in. It is the clearest signal of what the linking site thought the page was about, which is why a domain with a history of relevant anchors is a different asset from one whose links all say “click here”. Every anchor shown on this site is quoted from the linking page exactly as found, and shown as an example rather than a ranking.
Are the linking sites filtered?
Partly, and it is worth knowing which part. We exclude a fixed list of domains that link to almost everything, we only count registrable domains on our own TLD list, and we never count a site's links to itself. We do not drop a linking site for looking spammy, so what you see on a listing is listed as found rather than vetted. Read the linking sites and their anchor text and judge them yourself.
How is this page ordered?
By how many different sites link to it, with a site we hold an entry for counting for more than one we do not. Our list runs to a few hundred names across five kinds — news, reference, government, academic, and editorially-run sites that turn up in published studies of what AI assistants cite — and our record holds hundreds of thousands of sites, so most linking sites are simply not on it and still count once. That is the whole rule: no link is counted twice, nothing is subtracted. The exact figures behind the order are not shown, and the order is only ever a starting point for reading the linking sites yourself.
Where do the links come from?
Two, and a listing page says which one it is showing. Our page crawl fetches pages and records the linking page, its anchor text and how many links it carries. Our site-level link record only knows that one site links to another — no page, no wording, no count — and it covers names the page crawl has not reached yet. Both count a linking site once when we rank this page. We never mix them in one list, because a list where some rows carry anchor text and some cannot would read as a fact about the linking sites when it is a fact about us.
Does Revised sell backlinks?
No. Revised is a directory of expired domains that are available to register, with their metrics verified. We do not hold, sell or register domains, and we do not sell links. When you reveal a listing you get the name and the metrics, and you register it yourself at any registrar.
